1966

In 1860s Hungary, two decades after a failed revolution against the nation's royal leaders, the government continues to search for any surviving rebels. The officers round up huge quantities of possible ex-revolutionaries and force them into prison camps. Through abuse and mind games, they get former guerrilla Janos (János Görbe) to reveal himself and his comrades. He then watches in horror as his friends are executed and his suspicious fellow prisoners target him.
