I recently watched the original and the 2nd Superman movies to 'gear-up' for the latest installment by Brian Singer. Taking place 5 years after the end of Superman II, he returns to find things have changed. I loved this movie. It was almost perfect. I'm not going to give anything away, other than saying that this was an excellent continuation from the original Superman movies which I was a huge fan. I will always remember Christopher Reeves as Superman, and newcomer Brandon Routh fill his shoes very well. You can definitely tell that Singer was a fan of the original series from the very beginning, with tons of homage's to the Donner films. The only issue I had with it was the pacing. It seemed noticeably slow (even though I never lost interest); it just seemed to take a little more time than necessary to setup many of the scenes. I'm very much a "can't get enough of a good thing" kind of guy, so it's not a huge complaint. That small thing aside, I'm hoping to see this film again in the IMAX to experience the greatness of the 3-D and the Man of Steel himself.
