Community college geology professors Dr. Ira Kane (David Duchovny) and Harry Block (Orlando Jones) make an unfathomable discovery: microscopic alien life-forms on a meteorite. The military, government scientist Allison Reed (Julianne Moore) and others become involved as the microbes grow to giant proportions (in size and number), but it's up to the professors to teach these monstrosities a lesson in director Ivan Reitman's goofy comedy.
